About us

  • At Sierra, we’re creating a platform to help businesses build better, more human customer experiences with AI. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices in Atlanta, New York, London, France, Singapore, and Japan.

  • We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and Family. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.

  • Our co-founders are Bret Taylor and Clay Bavor. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement Go-to-Market and billing systems that support complex pricing, usage-based monetization, and revenue workflows

  • Architect scalable, reliable integrations between Salesforce and downstream financial systems, including CPQ, billing, invoicing, ERP, and data platforms

  • Build and own ETL pipelines that move raw and rated usage data between data warehouses, billing platforms, and financial systems to support complex usage-based billing scenarios

  • Design and maintain automated billing workflows, including usage ingestion, rating, invoicing, and revenue data synchronization

  • Evaluate, implement, and manage integration architectures (e.g., event-driven, ETL, iPaaS-based) to support scalable billing and revenue operations

  • Own the end-to-end health of billing and revenue systems by monitoring data accuracy, sync reliability, and operational performance across platforms

  • Lead the implementation of new billing capabilities as business models evolve, ensuring systems can support increasing pricing and usage complexity

  • Serve as a bridge between Engineering, Finance, RevOps, and GTM teams—translating product usage and monetization requirements into durable system designs

  • Guide and uphold development best practices to ensure high-quality code, stable integrations, and a strong foundation for future scale

  • Support broader GTM Operations initiatives through thoughtful system design, automation, and AI-first process optimization

  • Support broader GTM Operations team through thoughtful system design, UX enhancements, and AI-first process optimization

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years of Salesforce development and configuration experience (Apex, LWC, APIs, Flow, SOQL, security model, data modeling, etc.)

  • Proven experience building and maintaining integrations between Salesforce and billing, revenue, and financial systems

  • Deep understanding of CPQ, billing, and quote-to-cash concepts, including usage-based pricing, rating, invoicing, and revenue data flows

  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to model, transform, and analyze large datasets related to usage, billing, and revenue

  • Hands-on experience building reliable ETL pipelines between data warehouses, billing platforms, and downstream financial systems

  • Experience designing integration architectures using REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, and ETL or iPaaS-style tooling

  • Familiarity with ERP integrations and financial system data requirements (e.g., invoices, payments, revenue, collections)

  • Expertise in DevOps practices for enterprise applications, including CI/CD, version control, deployment automation, and rollback strategies

  • Ability to clearly articulate complex technical and financial system concepts to diverse audiences—from engineers to finance and GTM stakeholders

  • Strong ownership mindset with a track record of delivering complex, cross-system initiatives in ambiguous environments

Our values

  • Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.

  • Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.

  • Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.

  • Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.

  • Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.
