Position overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated, people-focused Manager to lead our expanding research team in Bangalore. This pivotal role centers on people’s leadership, coaching, and team development. You will manage a large, junior workforce responsible for delivery of proxy research and related data, ensuring timely, accurate outputs while fostering a high-performance culture and a collaborative, supportive environment. Your leadership will be key in driving professional growth, operational excellence, and team visibility across the broader organization.

Key Responsibilities:

People Leadership & Coaching

  • Manage and mentor a large team of junior data analysts, fostering a high-performance culture and a collaborative work environment.
  • Provide professional coaching on workplace conduct, punctuality, communication, and career growth, leading with empathy and approachability
  • Act as an ambassador for the Research/DMI function, representing the team to senior leaders and the broader organization.

Performance & Delivery

  • Ensuring all deadlines and SLAs are consistently met while maintaining team morale, discipline, and professional standards.
  • Support the team through high-pressure proxy seasons, driving focus, accountability, and results.

Training & Development

  • Drive the creation and adoption of training materials and process documentation to upskill team members.
  • Promote a learning culture and celebrate team achievements to boost motivation and visibility across the organization.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to align best practices and continuous improvements for team performance.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of people management experience, ideally leading teams that work with professional services, customer support, customer success, or related areas.
  • Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior professionals; experience as a university lecturer, corporate trainer, or team lead is ideal.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and empathetic leadership style
  • Empathy, supportive approach, and resilience to lead a large, diverse team through challenging and high-pressure periods.
  • Subject matter expertise while not a necessity, experience in corporate governance, executive compensation is preferrable. Leadership, coaching, and people development skills are the top priority to be successful in this role.
