Position Overview

We are seeking an outcomes-focused Product Operations Analyst to join our new Product Operations team and elevate our product decision-making through sound data analysis and clear insight communication. This role bridges Product Management and data, ensuring we define the right metrics, instrument events correctly, and translate findings into actionable insights. You will work with analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Pendo), raw data exports, and BI platforms to provide clear, reliable information that drives product decisions.

You will be involved in the end-to-end analytics operating rhythm across the product lifecycle in your designated Business Unit: helping shape tracking plans and taxonomies, ensuring data quality and availability, building reliable reporting, and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative signals into recommendations to improve our products. You will understand the basics of data flow, schemas, and event design well enough to collaborate effectively and troubleshoot issues with our data engineering and business analytics teams. You will partner closely with product management to understand their reporting needs, the gaps and help them make better informed decisions. You will also champion practical use of AI to accelerate analysis and improve operational efficiency wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

Product Analytics & Metrics

  • Co-define metrics that matter and input metrics with Product
  • Maintain your BU’s slice of the tracking plan (events/properties/IDs) and propose improvements
  • Manage tracking plans and event taxonomies; ensuring accurate and consistent definitions and instrumentation
  • Use analytics and data viz tools (Pendo, Amplitude, Tableau) to build dashboards, cohorts, funnels, and retention analyses for product consumption

Data Fluency & BI

  • Query and analyse raw event data using SQL, as needed. Join multiple sources to generate insights.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, and performance metrics that help Product leaders understand how the business and products are performing
  • Collaborate with our Business Analysis team to create and maintain reliable product scorecards and strategic reporting dashboards in BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau)
  • Monitor and resolve data quality issues, ensuring clarity and consistency in definitions
  • Enforce taxonomy and data quality checks, log changes, version notes, and data caveats, escalating systemic issues

Insights & Communication

  • Combine quantitative analytics with qualitative research (eg. Ideas portal, Gong, Salesforce, HighSpot etc) to uncover and recommend product opportunities
  • Translate data into plain-English insights and clear recommendations for non-technical audiences
  • Support product discovery and roadmap prioritisation with evidence-based analysis, as requested by the product management team

Operational & AI-Enabled Excellence

  • Assist the Product Operations Manager and Director of Product Operations run the analytics cadence for strategic reviews and planning cycles, ensuring timely data for ELT/SLT
  • Apply AI tools to accelerate analysis, automate reporting, and synthesize qualitative inputs
  • Contribute to improving our Product Operating Model, focusing on analytics best practices

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 2-5 years of experience in product analytics, data analytics or similar technical roles
  • Good SQL skills and comfort working with raw data. Knowledge of any other major programming language (e.g. Python) or API development a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualisation tools. Knowledge of product analytics platforms (Pendo, Amplitude, Mixpanel) a plus.
  • Understanding of data engineering basics (schemas, identifiers, event design) to work effectively with data engineering teams and advice on the “art of the possible”
  • Proven ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Experience combining qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions
  • Good stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity or excitement about using AI tools to improve productivity and decision-making
  • Passion for how sofwared products are built and the role data plays in the development process
